Lincoln's Blessing.

We blessed Lincoln on Sunday. We were so excited to have some of our family in town. Joan and Anna, Willie's mom and sister, made it into town really late the night before. They were troopers waking up so early to go to church for the blessing. We are very grateful for the support that we received from our friends and family. Those who participated in the blessing were; Willie, John Salmon (friend), Jake Merkley (friend), Mike Winegar (friend), David Fullmer (home teacher), and James Ayers (friend). Our other home teacher was sick and couldn't make it. We took the opportunity to invite some none member friends. They were so sweet to show up and support us as well.

Lincoln did really well during the blessing. Parker kept saying Lincolns name during the blessing, wondering where he was. Parker loves his brother and Lincoln loves his. Here is one of the best family pictures we could get after church. The kids were a little tired.

Here is Lincoln in his blessing outfit. Parker wore the same one when he was blessed.

What happy little boys.

A shout out to the Aunts and Uncles

We had this post ready awhile ago, we just forgot to post it. Parker loves each of his aunts and uncles. We tried to save the best for last!

A continuation on destruction.

I think Parker took our FHE lesson on destruction a little too seriously. Over the last three days we have had four accidents. The first lesson (not learned); Parker running out in the street. I was getting ready to put Parker into the car one morning so we could go for a walk with Lindy and her girls. It was around 10:30 so the traffic in our apartment area was dead. Parker thought it would be funny to run away before I could get him in his seat. Parked just a few stalls down from our car was a truck that is very tall with big huge wheels. As Parker turned to laugh at me as he was running he slammed his head into the bumper of this huge truck, his feet flying out from under him. He cried and I explained that's why you don't run into the street. I thought he would have remembered....
The next day Lincoln, Parker and I went to the local grocery store. My first mistake was getting Parker out of his seat before getting Lincoln out. Parker took off running in the parking lot, where I knew there would be more cars around. I ran after him, tryin
g to hold Lincoln at the same time. Parker ran in the cart return area, no carts, he turned to laugh again this time running into the bar that catches the carts. Perhaps I should teach him to watch where he is going or not to laugh at his mom. I once again explained that it was bad to run into the street. He held my hand all the way into the store, and back out. Hopefully the lesson has been taught.
At home today Parker was playing with Lincoln's barn toy. I can't really explain, so you'll just have to watch.

Today we decided to hang out around our apartment. Parker was pulling his new backpack along the sidewalk. I turned to look and see Parker trip hitting his face on the cement. Ouch! I thought he hit his mouth, turns out it was his entire nose. Luckily, for now, it was only a scratch with a little bleeding. He seemed to be good after some loving care. The picture below is kind of hard to tell, the scratch just looks a little like a sunburn now.

I have now learned that we need to hold off on the lessons about destruction. I also think I should have tried to teach Parker to watch where he is going if he decides to take off. Needless to say, I have smiled a lot throughout the week.

For family night we saved up some milk cartons to enjoy some time together. The lesson was on destruction.

Family resemblance.

I had fun pulling out some old photos of when we were younger. To my astonishment I can see which kid belongs to which adult. I think that Willie and I each have our favorite child now, just kidding we love both of our kids.

First Signs of Spring!

Willie and I took the kids on a walk one evening. The weather was outstanding! We had fun enjoying time as a family and time outdoors.
It's fun to see the flowers popping up out of the ground. They add so much color to the brown.

Yes, that's right to begin our spring it started to snow!! Granted it was a few days after our lovely walk but still we had SNOW in Georgia. You should have seen how giddy everyone was at church. I really miss seeing the snow.
