Four Months Old

16 lbs. 6 oz. 26 in. One happy kid. We love Lincoln so much. He loves to be lifted into the air. He loves kisses and laughing. He enjoys reaching for toys that swing overhead or give him the challenge to roll over, even though he hasn't done that yet. We are grateful to have Lincoln in our family and we hope we do a good job in raising him.

Amicalola Falls

On Memorial Day we took a hike. Well it was more like a small hike then 600 steps to the top of Amicalola Falls. When we started walking down I could feel my legs shaking just a bit. I hadn't been on a lot of stairs for awhile. The day was beautiful and even if rain is in the forecast you should still attempt to do what you had planned.
At the top. The view was gorgeous. Who knew Georgia actually had small mountains other than their 'Stone Mountain rock'.
Thanks to the Merkley's we were able to enjoy the great hike and the beautiful waterfall. Thanks for inviting us. Parker and Lincoln had a great time. Parker fell asleep on the way back down.
I know this photo could use a great caption, so I'll let you create your own. This is where Parker had his afternoon nap, what a lucky kid. People would laugh at us as they walked by, I don't know why.
After the great hike we stopped in Dahlonega in the historical part of town. We picked up some ice cream and let Parker run around. The town was fun to visit. I loved driving around in Georgia on Memorial Day. All the flags are a great reminder of those who sacrifice so much for us so that we can live in a free country. Thank you to those who serve our wonderful US of A!

Grill Fest 2009

We were invited to the Salmon home for Grill Fest 2009. We missed out on this experience last year but were just barely able to make it this year. Grilling was the number one priority. Everything we ate had to be grilled. John made an exception to the ice cream that went with the yummy dessert. Shrimp, steak, vegetable, and fruit made up for a tasty dinner. Thanks for a great Grill Fest Salmons.

New Experiences

Lincoln had his first haircut last week. We sort of forgot to get some video of the event, but we did take some pictures of him after the deed was done. His hair was such a mop and he was loosing a lot of it on the back and sides. He did really well for his first time. Parker was excited to share a bath with him afterward.

Since Parker likes to see himself on the blog I will tell some stories and post a picture. Last week Parker was playing with his friends. Parker was being pushed into a corner by the older child (name withheld). The child was told to say 'I'm sorry' and to give Parker a hug. Parker being a cute little guy said 'I sorry' and went to give the older child a hug. They are still good friends.

Another story about Parker. He likes to give kisses using his forehead, recently we have asked him to kiss with his lips. So before going to bed one night he heeded our request and pulled Lincoln's binky out and gave him a kiss on the lips. What a cutie. We love when Parker gives Lincoln a kiss and hug goodnight. They are good kids. We love them so much.

Southern Traditions

We went to Resaca, GA on Saturday to enjoy a southern battle reenactment. The Salmon family found this entertainment and invited us along. The forcast was rain, but we held out and enjoyed a nice sunny, humid day at the battle field. I loved seeing all the folks dressed up.
The battle itself was interesting. The cannons were loud, yet Lincoln slept through most of it. There was a good crowd even though some of our pictures may not show.
We always seem to find a tractor for Parker. He really loves tractors. Grandpa I hope you are ready to drive this boy around when we come to visit. We watched about an hour of the battle. It continued on to the next day. The cannons and horses were great. We even saw a few of the men 'fall to their deaths'. This is definitely something to do in Georgia whenever you visit.

Navarre Beach

We took a trip down to Navarre Beach in Florida. What a vacation. Parker loved playing in the sand and Lincoln loved laying under the umbrella all day ;) We went with our friends the Merkleys, the Salmons were unable to stay with us :( . Parker and his buddy Christian had good times playing together, they were sharing toys the whole time. What a blessing. Lincoln and his buddy Ethan (we mix up there names a lot, oddly they sound similar) chilled all day long together.
In Georgia we don't see many sunsets due to the trees. It was so wonderful to see a sunset again. Lincoln even woke up early enough to see a few sunrises. They sure were beautiful. I was very blessed on this Mothers day weekend. I loved being with my family. My husband is so awesome and gave me a cool gift that went towards his Father's day gift as well, a new GPS. We used it to go geocaching, what a fun time we had. We are excited to make more use of our new unit in the future.
When Parker went out in the ocean he would say 'a lot, a lot, a lot...' or 'wader'. I love listening to this boy talk now. Lincoln has been smiling so much lately. He is one happy kid. This is one vacation that we will have to try to do annually.

My wonderful husband.

Willie is so amazing. I love my husband so much. I had this blog post in mind for awhile and I'm just now getting to it. Willie and I took the kids down to Tech for an Electrical Engineering picnic. Willie was received an award for being an outstanding graduate TA. What a great guy! I'm so proud of him. He works so hard to provide for our family. To those who know us so well would probably laugh at the last statement, seeing as how Willie gets to play around a lot with us.
Willie applied for an internship in Boston. We can never stay in an apartment for more than 13 months so we are once again going to take another adventure that takes us out of state. Boston here we come! We are excited, I'm excited that it's not too far (across the ocean like France) away from home (Utah). I saw posted on a friends blog a message that went something like this; It's when you're safe at home that you wish you were having an adventure. When you are having an adventure you wish you were safe at home.

I am grateful for Willie and the many things he has done for me. I love him. I'm happy that he is an awesome Priesthood holder. Willie, thank you for everything!

21 and 3

Parker is now 21 months old and Lincoln is 3 months. It's crazy to think that Parker will be 2 soon!! These two boys have been absolutely wonderful. I may complain sometimes, but I should never complain. Parker loves 'Lee' and never hurts him. They both love to smile., but some of the pictures don't show it. It's tough to get both of the boys to smile at the same time.
