HIlton Head, SC

We had some friends invite us down to Hilton Head in October. We decided about a day before that we would go down. The drive was a little over four hours. The boys did great in the car for so long. In honor of Anna we took a picture of the gas station we stopped at. El Cheapo.
We arrived Friday evening in Savannah and we continued on to Tybee Island. This was Henry's first experience on the beach. The boys played in the sand a little and we ate a little bit of dinner. We met up with a couple of the families at this time.Henry had a lot of fun in the sand. The birds kept trying to eat our food. The sun was setting and the beach was beautiful.
Henry is super excited.
The boys borrowed some buckets and shovels and started working. We didn't have them in their swim gear but for the most part they stayed clean.
Parker getting some water to take back up on the shore.
Everyone was looking at a boy who decided to use his flip-flop to attack the few random crabs that were in the tide pools.
One of the poor crabs that was attacked by the boy, don't worry it lived.
Saturday we were off to Hilton Head. The beach was a little crowded but enjoyable. As the tide kept creeping away from us during the day we kept moving our things further down the beach. Lincoln didn't really enjoy the ocean until we had a tide pool to play in, then he felt secure and really enjoyed himself. Parker was brave and played in the waves and went out further with Willie. Henry loved the toys and the sand. We kind of forgot to grab his swim shorts from the car.
Thanks to whomever brought the shooty thing. Lincoln loved pushing the water out.
A-dawg checking to make sure that Henry isn't getting into too much trouble.
A few of the toys we took.
The weather wasn't completely hot and the water wasn't incredibly warm. It was nice enough to wear a suit but you were cold in the water. Parker is here getting warm after a little while.
Best friends.

A cup and spoon. Why did we bring all those beach toys again?

J-dawg taking care of his little one. Staying out of the sun as much as possible.
Whose castle was the tallest. Out of all the kids it ended up being Willie. :)
The boogy board was cool. The waves weren't big enough to get a super good ride. To be honest I never tried it out. Perhaps I should have. I believe Willie gave it a shot though.
Thanks for a great trip everyone.

Trunk or Treat

I knew that we had the cute skunk costume from a few years ago. I wanted to use it again but I didn't want to do the Peter Pan thing again. I thought of doing black and white stuff. I considered cat and the hat, Po the Panda, a skunk, and then the adults being where's waldo. Well I strayed from that idea and went western. Willie and I were the cowboy/girl and the two older boys were the cows and Henry was the skunk. I wanted to decorate the trunk all western like and put stars up and cut out our pumpkins, make a brand for our 'ranch'/trunk. Well I didn't get that crazy. Here are the costumes.
Lincoln
Parker
Henry
Parker had a bat painted on his hand.
I love this picture. Henry really loved carrying around his camera case but I love the pumpkin.
Here's the Sheriff getting hold of the skunk, keeping him away from the cows. :)
The other costumes we saw were:
a knight in shining armor
many brides
another cowgirl to take care of our cows
two cowgirls
the AllState agent man, 80's chick, BYU cheerleader, and monkey
The boys had fun counting their candy. They loved putting the candy in their bucket and dumping it then putting it back in.
Halloween night I made what I thought would be a fun dinner. Linc. didn't appreciate it very much. So much for makin' it cute. We had mummy dogs with yellow eyes (I had to scrape off the eyes), monsters (apples, Parker liked the marshmallow and peanut butter but not the apple), Dog bones.
It was fun doing the night for the boys even if they didn't appreciate it.

Trying New Things.

So we are trying out new cameras and I need to have subjects to test out the quality of the photos. Inevitably I use my kids. One day I thought it would be fun to try some real action shots. I asked Parker to jump off of the picnic table while I took a shot. There are only a hand-full of fun ones. Lincoln joined in on the fun as well. I think this one of Parker is pretty cool.
The camera did some crazy stuff with Lincoln's right arm but I think the shot is still pretty fun.
We tested the camera outdoors. I think I was so overwhelmed by all the megapixels (compared to our old camera) that I think that any camera will do great. This isn't the case always. We are still on the search for a nice point and shoot with quick shutter speed, zoom, and more megapixels than 4.
What a mop on top of his head. His hair gets so long sometimes. I guess I'm just used to the summer cut but now we are into fall so I suppose this kind of hair cut can get by.
I was taking Henry's one year photos and two other boys had to jump in and get their photos as well.
What gooses. I always call them a goose. I'm sure I should say geese. It reminds me of Brian Reagan with his 'moosen.'
Can I just say thanks to my mom and dad for sending this super cute suit for Henry. Doesn't he just look so handsome?
Heart breaker. I bet Willie looked just this good when he was a kid too.
