Easter Bunny

Easter Saturday!
This is a post for the past.  Here are pictures with little commentary to tell of our fun on Easter Saturday.  The Bunny visits on Saturday so we can reflect more on the life of our Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday.

We found this twin bed frame for free on craigslist.  My idea is to sand it down and stain it for Parker's new bed.  We'll have to see how long it takes.

Jiji and Hunt

March 29, 2013
At Parker's school they have a program called ST Math.  He was one of the first two kids in his kindergarten class to finish 100% of the program.  If the kids finished by a certain time they all received a shirt with the penguin (jiji) on it.  Parker loves math and he did awesome with this program.  He also made a little penguin out of an egg carton.

In past years we go to a friends house who has a fabulous yard for doing an Easter egg hunt.  This year I didn't know of anyone and we had missed some hunts due to the snow on that particular day.  So I decided to host a little one, maybe I can make it tradition.  We had a little hunt and then frosted some cookies.

A bonus was that on this particular week day Willie was able to be home.  A nice little treat.

The group of kids.  We invited the Bleckers, the Reusch's, and the Andersons.

I'm glad the kids could have some fun this year for Easter.  Thanks to all the moms who were willing to participate with their kids.

Mellow March

March 2013
Caroline is another month older.  This month we just enjoyed being indoors and relaxing a little.

The boys loved the photo shoot and helped Caroline to smile often.  They joined in on the fun eventually.
Henry being a goof wearing my shoes after church.  They fit so nicely.

A Pinterest find was this fun idea for a movie night.  We have plenty of boxes from when we moved so it was easy to pick a nice one out for each child.  I had to make sure to have a small enough one for Henry to get into.  I let the boys paint the boxes and then we added headlights and wheels.  We also put on their license plates with their names on them.

We watched a movie and ate pizza for dinner.  They had so much fun!
Later on I realized I had two big boxes the same size.  I taped them together and let the boys paint it.  They really loved doing this project too.  A cardboard box house to play in.  It has been a favorite for about a month.  I thought I had a picture of the final project but I can't find it.  The boys have pulled their blankets and pillows inside as well as all their stuffed animals and cars.  It really has been a fun little thing to play in.  Well worth it.

Favorite Snow.

February 2013
Our one really good storm of the year.  I was so excited.  Willie helped our neighbor shovel her drive way.  The boys helped a little too.

School was canceled.  Henry and Caroline stayed inside most of the time.  Here is what they did to stay occupied while the rest of us played in the snow.

Caroline ventured out for a little bit.  She was bundled up really nicely in her pink marshmallow snowsuit.
The snow is very bright and so Lincoln needed some shades.  We don't really have a hill at our house and so we built one.  I moved a few shovel fulls onto a nice spot by the driveway.  Everything from the drive way was used for our little hill.  We used our new sleds from Grandma Nanette and Grandpa David.
Our little hill didn't work too well at first so we moved to the drive way where it was slick.  The kids had a ton of fun sledding in the driveway.  They were doing lots of fun tricks too.  Caroline went down but we could never coerce Henry to come out for even the tiniest bit.

The next day we got the hill working fairly well.  The driveway was no longer slick so they had to be content with our little 3 foot hill.  We invited our neighbor over.  Selah had a good time too.  We let her borrow a couple of things to keep her warm.  Oddly we had a lot of snow gear to share.

February Flyby

February 2013
February went by with out any real sickness.  We did get a couple of snow storms which we enjoyed very much.  I don't understand why people complain about the snow.  I love it.  We can stay inside all nice and cozy or we can go out and play in the white fluffy stuff.  Either way you should always have a nice mug of hot chocolate.  Lincoln is truly warm blooded, shoveling with his shorts on!
Here are Lincoln's 4 year old pictures.  He is great at making many faces but I picked two of my favorite.

 Valentines pancakes.  Yummy yogurt.

Parker didn't have school on Presidents day so we took some time to learn about Abraham Lincoln.  We made hats and saw how tall we were compared to President Lincoln.  We also had a chance to have a few friends and family come to visit.
My Valentines gift to Willie.  Looks good huh?
Making some Valentines day cookies.  The kids were having a lot of fun doing this project.
Sharing our cookies the next day.

Lincoln and Henry determined to get all of their cars washed in the car wash.  Some of the cars that made noises did not make it through.  They did have a whole lot of fun playing and splashing in the sink.  This went on for at least a week and soon after it became a big mess so it had to stop.  The boys would definitely need to have a clothing change after they were done.
